TIRADITO NIKKEI at Kousine

If you have never tried Peruvian cuisine, Kousine is a wonderful place to start. Located on the north end of the Fort Lauderdale Beach barrier island, and sandwiched between McSorleys and Ocean Wine & Spirits, lies a culinary gem. Peruvian-Chinese chef Danny Kou opened Kousine Peruvian Kitchen in late 2017, and the restaurant has earned rave reviews since for its flavorful fusion dishes. Leading off the menu is a fine assortment of what could be considered Peru's signature dish, Ceviche, but it's signature TIRADITO NIKKEI ($22) which from first glance appears to pretty to eat, that will steal your taste buds away. Composed of seared Ahi tuna, passion fruit, sesame seeds, daikon radish and carrot pickle, Nikkei aioli.
BEER BATTERED FISH & CHIPS at Burlock Coast
When you hear the word "Ritz," you can't help but think Fred Astaire and pinkies in the air, but one step inside the posh resorts restaurant, Burlock Coast, and that's where those memories begin to fade. With its casual beachside vibe, locals and visitors can enjoy a scene that's more unpretentious party than exclusive club. Their daily Happy Hour proves the point with specials ranging from a Burger & Brew Night on Monday ($15 BC Burger & Beer Combo from 5-9 pm) to the Free Flowing Weekend every Saturday and Sunday with Bottomless Mimosas, Bellinis, Bloody Marys, Rum Punch and Aperol Spritz ($39) from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. But it's the everyday carefully curated and creative menu we love most about Burlock Coast, which is evident in their BEER BATTERED FISH & CHIPS ($24) with French Fries and Remoulade Sauce.
SEAFOOD CEVICHE at Naked Crab
Drawing on Executive Chef David Morale’s Latin heritage, Naked Crab Seafood Kitchen + Cocktail Bar at B Ocean Resort offers modern Mediterranean dishes using fresh seafood and locally sourced produce. Perfect for National Seafood Month, the restaurant embodies authentic, local dining on Fort Lauderdale Beach and offers seafood dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Chef Morales is sharing his take on Seafood Ceviche that features diced flounder filet – mixed with julienne onion, cilantro springs, Peruvian peppers, passion fruit puree, soft shell crab, and lime juice – that takes a simple recipe into a full-flavored dish that uncovers Chef Morales’ Latin American roots.
BERMUDA ROLL at S3
Fort Lauderdale's beautiful beaches are on full display at S3. Scenery aside, this place has plenty of appeal, including multicourse share-a-plate-style meals, great drinks, a sultry indoor-outdoor bar with live music on the weekend, and fire pits to set the scene. There are ample reasons to head indoors, too, including a well-appointed Southeast Asian atmosphere and a menu of global eclectic fare, including customer favorite, the Arrowhead Roll ($21), a flavorful combination of Tuna, Yellowtail, Salmon, Krab, Masago, Avocado and Spicy Mayo. S3, however, stands for more than succulent and scrumptious sushi, which is why every palate will find an equally creative selection of steak & seafood, such as the Wood-Fired Chili Rubbed Bavette Steak, Chilean Sea Bass, and their famous Toasted Mac & Cheese smothered in smoked Gouda.
SHRIMPER'S NET at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Who knew when Benjamin Buford ‘Bubba’ Blue exalted “Shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it,” a restaurant empire would be born? And how could it not when there are so many ways to serve it up “shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich ... that - that's about it.” You can savor these savories Bubba Gump Shrimp Company on Fort Lauderdale Beach – including one left off the lengthy list -- steamed, in Beer. Yes, with Shrimp being their middle name, the SHRIMPER'S NET Catch Peel ‘n’ Eat Shrimp steamed in Beer and tossed with Garlic Spice or Cajun Spice Appetizer ($14.99), is a great place to start any visit, be it with family, colleagues or friends.
