Already looking forward to fall? We don’t blame you. After the hot summer we have experienced in South Florida (and nowhere to be but home), knowing cooler temperatures are coming soon is something to look forward to.
While Autumn is less than a month away (the first day is September 22), we locals know fall on Fort Lauderdale Beach looks a little different than many places throughout the country. There are no changing leaves to anticipate, sweaters to pull out of the closet (yet!), and we will surely depend on our air-conditioning a little longer than most before we begin to notice that hint of chill in the air.
However, as the days get shorter, the sun's path across the sky sinks lower to the horizon causing the skies at sunrise and sunset glow the most spectacular hues of red, orange, yellow and pink. The benefit we have is a seasonal sky to admire longer since we have no falling leaves to rake off the beach.
