More than Just Sun & Sand, Taste the Wave

As part of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau’s CRAVE GFL Restaurant Month, restaurants along Fort Lauderdale Beach’s famed Wave Wall will host the Taste the Wave Fort Lauderdale Beach Tasting Tour on Thursday, September 21 from 6:30 – 10:30pm.

Featuring bites and sips from a dozen restaurants, guests will traverse the coastal dining destination aboard an air-conditioned Sun Trolley, stopping along the three-mile route to sample signature bites, and meet the chefs, who have helped place the area best known for sun and sand, on the culinary map.

“We presented the option to each participating CRAVE GFL restaurant to create a unique experience to expand upon the eclectic culinary offerings in Greater Fort Lauderdale,” said Stacy Ritter, President and CEO, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau. “What the restaurants on Fort Lauderdale Beach came back with, truly speaks to our shared goals and camaraderie within our hospitality and restaurant community.”

Led by a personal tour guide, each small group of up to 30 guests will board a dedicated Sun Trolley at one of four starting locations. On board, wine and cocktail samplings from Bahia Mar, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., and Ocean 2000 will be served between tastings on-site at 3030 Ocean, Atlantic Grill, Bistro, Burlock Coast, Naked Crab, Siren’s Table, Spazio, Steak 954 and Tsukuro.

Find a favorite along the way? Each of the 10 participating restaurant stops will distribute their CRAVEGFL menu to guests with the invitation to join them through the end of September to enjoy their specially created 3-course meal, affordably priced at $37. To satiate attendees post-event, each will receive a keepsake beach bag filled with exclusive dining offers, sponsor gifts and a Hello Sunny 2-4-1 Summer Savings Card, valued in all at over $150.00.

“Over the last few years Greater Fort Lauderdale, and Fort Lauderdale Beach especially, has developed a culinary scene which rivals some of the great ‘dining destinations’ in the U.S.,” stated Eduardo Fernandez, general manager of Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach and Chair of the Beach Business Improvement District (BID). “From fine dining options to casual watering holes, Fort Lauderdale Beach boasts over 50 options to enjoy a great meal or kick back with a cocktail – all with an ocean view.”

Priced at $75.00 per person, tickets include Valet and Self-Parking, Air-conditioned Transportation, a Keepsake Beach Bag, all taxes and online ticketing Service Charges. While there is transportation between many, light walking between some locations is part of the tour. Advanced purchase is required, and while tickets are non-refundable, they are transferable to foodie friends.
