Dinner & A Movie

Dinner and a movie are the perfect fit, whether it’s date night or just hanging with friends. What makes it even more perfect is when it’s under a summer evening sky and the warming glow of a full moon.

With summer in full swing, bringing us longer days, cooler nights, and the start of the annual Dine Out LauderDEALS program, there has never been a better time to plan a Dinner and Movie Night than now.

Presented by the City of Fort Lauderdale’s BID and the Parks & Recreation Department, Movies by Moonlight marry the two deliciously. The last two features in the 3-part monthly Summer series take place on August 20 and September 24.

Now, budget-conscious food lovers can enjoy LauderDEALS menus starting at and end the night with a free movie. As an added bonus, guests dining at participating restaurants will receive a complimentary VIP Ticket to Movies by Moonlight. Sponsored by Boccaccino Cafe & Pizzeria the VIP Ticket may be redeemed for a gift bag with Popcorn, Candy and Soft Drinks for Two ( a $15 value).

“We saw a huge resurgence of the drive-in movie last year with theaters and many entertainment venues closed,” stated Arianne Glassman, activation coordinator for The LOOP. “Timing Movies by Moonlight during LauderDEALS was our way of offering a budget-friendly option for a night out on the town.”

With activities beginning at 5pm, those heading to Fort Lauderdale Beach will have many ways to  fill the hours before the movie starts. Parents looking to shake off the workweek can get in a workout at the OutFIT Training class at 6pm. At the same time, children may attend the FLIPANY CATCH Kids Club and participate in activities with Mathnasium. There are also market vendors and live music from 5:30 – 8:00 pm. Or to pack a picnic or order take-out from nearby restaurants and settle in.
