On Tuesday, January 19th, local artists and members of the community gathered for a cocktail reception to celebrate the “Bold and Beautiful” exhibition currently on display inside the lobby of The Atlantic Hotel & Spa. As part of The Atlantic Hotel’s ongoing partnership with ArtServe Inc., an organization that features the works of local artists, the exhibition will be on display through April 2016 and features the works of six different South Florida-based artists.
“We are thrilled to continue supporting local South Florida artists and have their artwork adorn the walls of our lobby,” said Heidi Dennis, General Manager of The Atlantic Hotel & Spa. “The entire team at The Atlantic is passionate about fostering this partnership with ArtServe in support of our local cultural community and the arts.”
Guests enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres provided by Beauty & the Feast as they mingled with the featured artists including Susan Clifton, a mixed media painter whose work explores fractal shapes that form “fabric mosaic;” Diane Delorey, an award-winning painter whose work experiments with movement and space in bold hues and textures; and Michael D. Harris whose work is inspired by the intricacy of Florida’s waterway systems and focuses on recreating them into three-dimensional forms.
Other featured artists included in the exhibition are Renee Falsetto, an abstract expressionist who works in oils, acrylics and mixed media; Leonardo Montoya, an award-winning artist whose work recreates popular images with a classical approach and a contemporary twist; and Carlos Pundik, a 3-D artist who creates excitement of the visual senses through exhilarating and kaleidoscopic work. Guests were also treated to a performance by a student member of VoiceBox – a collaborative partnership between ArtServe and the Jason Taylor Foundation’s Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network.
The partnership with ArtServe is part of The Atlantic Hotel & Spa’s ongoing support of the arts whereby every few months the hotel displays eye-catching artwork from emerging local artists. Available for purchase, the sales from these works of art will support local artists and the cultural community.
ArtServe is an award-winning non-profit arts incubator with a mission to provide programs, events, business opportunities, and facilities that help local and emerging artists turn their art into a business.
