History Happy Hour: The Civic Activism of Ivy Stranahan @ Historic Stranahan House Museum

Combine your love of history with a glass of featured wine at the Historic Stranahan House Museum’s History Happy Hour on Tuesday, August 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Join local historian and Broward County Schools educator Michelle Sammartino for a deep dive into the civic and social activism of Fort Lauderdale’s first lady, Ivy Stranahan. Learn how Ivy challenged the status quo by fighting for the rights of women, African Americans and Native Americans during the early 20th century and the role she played in the creation of numerous Fort Lauderdale organizations such as the Fort Lauderdale Women's Club, Audubon Society, Red Cross and more.

Stranahan House is located at 335 SE 6th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Special summer pricing includes tickets for just $10 for Stranahan House members and Broward County Public Schools teachers and staff. Tickets are $15 for non-members.
