Thanksgiving Weekend Activities

Wednesday, November 22

Kick off Thanksgiving weekend and the holiday season at the annual Light Up The Beach event on Fort Lauderdale Beach at Las Olas Boulevard and A1A. The festivities begin at 5:30pm with a holiday choir “Sounds of the Season” followed by the illumination of holiday lights and Olas the Beach Snowman display, culminating in the Florida 9th District American Legion Symphonic Band performing holiday classics.

Thursday, November 23

All are invited on Thanksgiving morning to run, walk or jog in the 7th Annual Turkey Trot. The route for the race follows Fort Lauderdale Beach along A1A in a USA Track & Field sanctioned 5k. The event will benefit two local community organizations; the iTRACE Foundation and the Leadership Broward Foundation.
