The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale, recognized as one of South Florida's premier shopping destinations for its sophisticated level of merchandising and ambiance, is calling all artists to create a one-of-a-kind design that will be featured on an exclusive t-shirt. This effort builds momentum for The Galleria's "Dog Days," a series of events during August that will raise awareness and funds for local pet adoption and rescue organizations.

The t-shirt design should represent the love of dogs and incorporate the tropical paradise that we live in. A committee will review all entries and determine the best design that is most stylish, best represents the theme and will attract the most attention. The artist who creates the winning design will be awarded a $250 gift card compliments of The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale.

"The Galleria's inaugural Dog Days effort last year was a success so we are excited to build upon it by adding this fundraising element," said Melissa Milroy, senior marketing manager at The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale. "As a vital part of the community, we are proud to present this future series of events that will raise awareness and help local pet causes."

The t-shirts will be on sale throughout the month of August especially during the Forever Homes adoption event on Wednesday, August 10 and the Fashion Hounds event on Wednesday, August 17 as part of The Galleria's Dog Days. The Forever Homes event will feature a pet expo with an emphasis on dog adoptions through several participating organizations: Abandoned Pet Rescue, Animal Aid Inc., Be Kind to Animals Rescue, Boxer Friends, Broward County Animal Care & Adoption, Good Karma Pet Rescue, Humane Society of Broward and Island Paws Pet Rescue. Local pet-focused businesses will also participate, showcasing available products and services. The Fashion Hounds event will feature a high-energy dog runway show with coveted prizes awarded to owners and their beloved dogs.

JLL, a professional services and investment management firm representing The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale, is bringing back Dog Days in 2016 after 26 JLL managed centers hosted the successful event series in August 2015.

Artists can send their t-shirt designs to Brittany Holtz from Goodman Public Relations at brittany@goodmanpr.com, or call (954) 446-0812 with any questions. All entries must include full contact information. The deadline to submit is Friday, July 1. The winner will be chosen on Friday, July 8.
