One of this season’s hottest new restaurants, Lona Cocina y Tequileria, is launching a not-to-be missed beachfront Bottomless Sunday Brunch and exciting weekday promotions. Offering a funky, welcoming ambiance, Lona invites guests to relax, enjoy the ocean breeze and savor a menu brimming with bold and authentic flavors created by celebrated Mexican chef Pablo Salas. All week long, diners and imbibers can head to Lona for a multitude of temptations and series of specials.
Available every Sunday from 11:30AM to 3PM, Lona’s Bottomless Brunch is priced at $24 per person (excluding tax and gratuity) and allows brunch-goers to choose an appetizer, entree and dessert from a delicious array of Mexican favorites. Included in the brunch price, and perfect for the beachfront vibe, are refreshing free-flowing libations including Tequila Cazadores margaritas and Mexican beers. Also available is Lona’s a la carte drink menu featuring thirst-quenching handcrafted cocktails.
Authentic appetizers include perfectly crisp Molletes – toasted baguette topped with refried bean spread, chorizo and asadero cheese; Quesadillas de Huitlacoche – wild mushrooms, corn truffle, Mexican cheeses and fresh tomatillo; and gooey Queso Fundido – broiled Mexican cheeses topped with your choice of chorizo or mushrooms, served with tortillas and pico de gallo.
Flavorful entrée options include Chilaquiles con Huevo – crispy tortillas topped with red salsa, asadero cheese, crema and a fried egg; savory Carnitas Hash – braised pulled pork atop homestyle potatoes with salsa verde, onion and cilantro; and indulgent Buttermilk Masa Pancakes with piloncillo syrup and pecan butter. Guests are encouraged to save room for dessert and choose from Churros Waffles – crispy waffles topped with Mexican chocolate and Nutella sauce; Caramel Flan with tangy passion fruit sorbet; and Tres Leches – sponge cake soaked in a mixture of three milks and topped with fresh mango and raspberry sorbet. To complement, a variety of sides can be added for $3 each: Poblano Home Fries, Chipotle-Cheese Grits, Charro Beans, Chorizo and Bacon.
Because no Mexican restaurant is complete without a proper Taco Tuesday, Lona’s Tacos, Tatts and Tequila is one that will stick with you forever – literally. After munching on $2 tacos and sipping refreshing $2 margaritas, the funky eatery invites revelers to ink their Lona, Spanish for “canvas”, on the terrace with a tattoo from beloved Fort Lauderdale tattoo shop Kreepy Tiki. Participating guests have the chance to win a $200 gift certificate towards some ink. Tacos, Tatts and Tequila, is offered every Tuesday from 4-7PM. Also providing relief from a busy week is Lona’s Wednesday Ladies Night. All night long, a local DJ plays beats as ladies mix, mingle and savor $5 bar appetizers and $5 house wine, well drinks and draft beer.
