The Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach has been forced to push back it’s highly anticipated opening in wake of Hurricane Irma.
However, the delay hasn’t quieted any of the buzz surrounding the 290 all-suite oceanfront resort, which is set to begin welcoming guests October 10 following a soft-opening for VIP guests September 29, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Once open, the four-star nautical-themed resort on will pay homage to South Florida’s world-class beaches and culture at every turn.
“We want to honor and embrace the community in everything we do. Our vision is to provide intuitive service and smart luxury while offering programs and amenities that pay tribute to South Florida’s natural environment, local companies and the destination’s yacht and beach culture,” the hotel’s general manager, Chintan Dadhich, told TravelPulse.
“Some examples of this include using locally sourced food in our restaurants and collaborating with local artists to showcase the incredible talent here in South Florida.”
Dadhich also points out that the new property will be committed to sustainability. One example of how it will work to preserve the environment is by doing away with traditional plastic straws that continue to be a “major source of garbage that ends up in our oceans.”
Highlights and amenities at Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach will include a 20,000 square-foot pool deck complete with cabanas and ocean views from six stories up; 4,000-square-foot full-service spa; 4,524 square-foot ocean ballroom; fitness center; 10,000 square feet of meeting space; 10,000 square feet of oceanfront outdoor space and a library.
It will also be home to four food and beverage outlets, including signature restaurant Terra Mare, which will specialize in shared plate dining featuring locally sourced ingredients as well as unique tableside meal preparation.
The resort’s gourmet marketplace, Cornucopia, will offer artisanal cuisine, including flatbreads and pastries.
The Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach will be just the second Conrad Hotels & Resorts property to open in Florida and will participate in the Hilton Honors loyalty program. It will also offer Conrad’s signature 1/3/5 destination itineraries designed to immerse guests in the local culture.
“Upon opening, we will offer experiential packages highlighting the hotel’s inspiration features and special attractions in Fort Lauderdale Beach, culinary offerings by Chef Jorge Ramos, wellness activities and other special amenities,” said Dadhich.
Guests can also look forward to exciting experiences right outside of their rooms.
“We plan to implement special programming and amenities around the beach including prepared picnic baskets for families to have a gourmet meal on the beach. We’ll also have beach cruisers available for guests to explore the oceanfront and we’ll offer many inspiring events and activations on the sixth-floor pool deck,” added Dadhich.
“The entire hotel is inspired by the destination from inside and out.”
