The Club at Marriott® Harbor Beach is making plans for the Eighth Annual Taste of Harbor Beach, to be held Nov. 7, 2014, at Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, FL. It is the resort’s largest fundraising event of the year to benefit the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals/Miami Children’s Health Foundation.
More than 400 people are expected to attend Taste of Harbor Beach, a food, wine and travel auction event hosted by the resort’s private membership club.
The evening will feature food stations from the resort restaurants 3030 Ocean and Sea Level, as well as signature cuisine selections by guest chefs from noted area restaurants. 3030 Ocean Executive Chef Paula DaSilva, former contestant on Fox Television’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” will be on hand along with 3030 Chef LaTasha McCutchen, currently vying for top honors on this season’s show.
Chef Jason Connelly will be preparing the cuisine of Sea Level, and among participating restaurants will be culinary presentations from Chef Enrique Galan, Via Luna, The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale Beach; Thasos Greek Taverna, Fort Lauderdale Beach; Chef Daniel Gerety, McCoy’s Oceanfront, Pompano Beach Marriott; and Stout, Oakland Park.
Attendees will be able to pair their dinner selections with a wide array of international wines and enjoy a variety of cocktails and spirits. Silent and live auctions will feature travel opportunities to Marriott hotels and resorts globally, including such desirable destinations as San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Brazil, San Juan, Cancun, St. Thomas, Costa Rica and Marriott Vacation Club International worldwide locations, to name a few.
Auction items run the gamut, from exotic travel to unique gift and specialty items. There’s a voyage for two to ports of choice with Azamara Club Cruises, a destination-immersive cruise line sailing to 66 countries and 226 ports in Northern and Western Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia, the West Indies, South America and Antarctica. Also up for auction will be a one-of-a-kind barrel bar stool, hand-crafted from genuine Maker’s Mark barrel staves, plus dozens of other unique gifts and specialty items. Desserts, cordials and coffee will be served following the auction.
The fundraiser will take place 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. Tickets are $50 per person in advance, and $65 at the door. Complimentary valet parking is included.
Since its start in 2007, the Taste of Harbor Beach has raised more than $200,000 for the Miami Children’s Hospital, the exclusive Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® is an international non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals across North America.
